CONTACT/ABOUT
My name is Gregory Brundage
First I’d like to say thanks to a Taiwanese guy I met when I was about 14 or so named Chin Lin, or something like that. He was a Graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was working on his thesis which had something to do with a mathematical/computer formula designed to predict the movement of water which was to be used to help find the source of pollution in rivers and lakes. He helped me research “Qi,” explained some basic things about Chinese medicine and also introduced me to the collected work of Joseph Needham, the most prolific translator of Chinese literature into English. This was back in the early 1970s. In the late 1980s I even wrote a book titled "The Book of Chi - A Scientific Study of Chi and the Martial Arts." It had references from hundreds of scientific journals divided into chapters on psychology, physiology, physics, and others. Each chapter started with a quote from classical Chinese literature to introduce the chapter. Unfortunately I have traveled too much these many long years and no longer have a copy!
Since then I’ve been busy working at a lot of very diverse things, but over the years I periodically continued that research. So, building this site has been great fun for me because it’s been a life-long interest of mine and a field in which I think even greater discoveries will be made in the future, as I’ve always believed that we humans currently know less than half of what there is to know about the sciences, especially medicine and psychology. Each science points us in the right direction, but only critical thinking and open minded curiosity can lead us to a future in which both physical and psychological diseases can be prevented and we all can all enjoy a peaceful and healthy world.
So, thanks Chin Lin and many other people who over the years have shared some of they know about TCM such that I have a great appreciation and wonder at a vast and very useful field of medicine.
